About LIsa Klusmeier
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), who obtained my MSW from Washington University in St. Louis where I focused on leadership, advocacy, policy, family dynamics, and counseling. As a later in life career, I bring not only therapeutic skills but also life experience to my practice. I find that Internal Family Systems (IFS) combined with somatic work is an effective way to conceptualize and approach most issues life presents.
My educational background also includes a Master’s in Aging and long-term care management, which provides invaluable insight into lifespan development. I worked as a nursing home administrator, wrote programs for older adult service agencies, consulted with employers on providing services to an aging workforce, and began to formulate my personal views of what it means to age well. And yes, we can age well.
Along the way I added Professional Certified Coach to my credentials through the International Coaching Federation, as well as Master Practitioner of Energy Leadership through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). The intensive training started my learning journey into human potential, conflict resolution, skills building, empowerment, and balancing risk and resilience.
I am also a retired musician, having played horn for many years. I am a Certified Pilates Instructor, which helps me understand movement and how the body works through emotional states.
